You’re probably reading this because the title of this blog post caught your attention. Plus, you’re thinking that you’ve been feeling less than 100% health-wise for a while now.
If you’re experiencing consistent headaches that never seem to go away, there are a few causes to consider.
1. Bad Teeth
It’s no secret that most Americans experience problems with their teeth at some point in their lives. For example, when gingivitis (gum disease) progresses to advanced stages, it becomes periodontal disease.
Did you know that bad teeth can also cause other problems like constant headaches? If you have missing or misaligned teeth, your jaw muscles might have to work harder to bring your top and bottom teeth together, ultimately resulting in constant headaches.
It makes sense to consider dental services if you’re experiencing problems with your teeth, as they could be the reason you’ve got headaches from hell!
2. Illness
One thing you may not have realized until now is that the symptoms of many medical conditions include headaches. The common cold and the flu (influenza), for example, may leave you with lingering headaches if it takes you a long time to get over those illnesses.
Infections, such as ear or sinus infections, are also other illnesses that can make your head feel like someone’s banging a loud drum inside of it. Schedule an appointment with your doctor if such illnesses don’t go away of their own accord.
3. Poor Diet
You might not think that the food and drink you consume can cause you to have consistent headaches throughout your day. However, a poor diet can be a possible trigger for causing constant headaches.
For instance, consuming a lot of things high in sugar can cause you headaches, especially when you “come down” from a sugar rush. Examples of triggers include alcohol, processed meat, and aged cheese. Consider what you eat and drink by sticking to a healthy diet of grains, lean meats, fruits, veggies, nuts, and plenty of water.
4. Work
Do you work long hours and have very little time away from computer screens or other equipment you use for work? Plus, are you constantly working in places with little to no natural light?
If the answer is yes to any of those questions, and you often feel stressed because of your work, you’ve likely found the source of your daily headaches. Consider looking at ways to reduce your workload or seek alternative employment elsewhere.
5. Lack of Quality Sleep
Lastly, if you aren’t giving your body enough time to rest and recuperate from the stresses of the day (and night), you’ll notice many adverse effects impacting your body. One of those, of course, is experiencing consistent headaches.
Look at the possible reasons for your lack of quality sleep, such as an uncomfortable bed, problems breathing during your sleep, or a partner that keeps disturbing your sleep with loud snoring, for example.
Explore these causes to help you overcome constant headaches. Also, seek to professional advice of your primary care physician who will have more insight into your individual needs.
