Running events like product launches, trade shows, and conferences, is a great way to promote your business as widely as possible, but it is fair to say that it can be a lot of work, especially when you are a small mom-owned business.
That’s why I’ve put together some tips to help ensure that, if you want to run a marketing event for your company, you can do it as successfully as possible…
1. Work out your why
If you want your business event to be a big success, first you need to pinpoint what its purpose is. Do you want to launch a great new product to the public? Are you looking to network with other mompreneurs in related niches so you can do a deal? Do you simply want to make more sales? Work out your why and it will be easier to get the rest of your event planning right.
2. Have a plan
The logistics of even a small business event can involve a lot of things from the venue to the food and drinks to the entertainment, not to mention the marketing, so it is a good idea to have a really clear plan of what you need to do and how you want things to go.
3. Hire an event planner
If you can afford to do so, hiring one of the best local promotional staff agencies to take care of your event will be much easier than you trying to do it all on your own. They have experienced staff who can plan the event, and run it for you, so you only have to worry about showing up and showcasing your business in the best possible light.
If you can’t afford an event planner, then roping in as many friends and family to help you get the thing organized is sensible because you don’t want to run yourself into the ground right before your event.
4. Communication is key
When planning an event, you should be regularly in touch with the event planners, your speaking guests, the caterers, and the people you are inviting to be a part of it all. It’s easy for things to get missed or misunderstandings to happen when everyone is left to their own devices, so be sure that everyone is saying coordinated.
5. Enjoy it
It’s important that you do your best to enjoy your business event. After all, people are coming to see you but if you are completely stressed out and exhausted, you are not going to give your best pitch or be your usual charming self, which will harm your chances of achieving your business goals.
Take some time out to breathe and relax before the event and have fun!
I hope your first business event is as successful as you need it to be. You got this!
Holding a business event can be a tasking endeavor, but knowing the right steps to take will make the whole process easier. I agree that working with an event planner goes a long way, too.
